Favorite holiday movie

Our family favorite holiday movie is
"A Christmas Story"
you know, the one where Ralphie
wants the Red Ranger Rifle and
his mom thinks he'll shoot his eye out?
Joey even gave me a replica of the
famous fishnet stocking-clad leg lamp one year
(which sits on the hall table).
A couple weeks ago we had all this
snow and ice on the ground so
my little pals were determined that
we go outside in the freezing temps
to take this photo, like the boy in
the movie.
No- we didn't let Chloe really touch
the post with her tounge.
We are MUCH smarter than that!

St. Louis Cardinals WORLD CHAMPS

Another item to scratch off of my list.....
go to a World Series Game.
Thanks, Ron & Karen, for the VIP invite.
As you can see, we all had a blast
watching our team get one game closer
to WINNING the World Series.
Friday nite we were happy to watch
the final game with our good friends
at a little spot in southern Illinois.
They'll be talking about Glen and his
dance for weeks to come!

WAY TO GO CARDS!

Marthasville in the Fall

Just a glimpse of the beautiful fall colors
we saw in Marthasville today
at the German festival.
Of all times to have the telephoto lens,
but you get the idea.
It was nice just to be out walking around
in this part of our countryside.

I haven't been posting much lately.
My photography just hasn't been there
so nothing much to get excited about.
This next week I'm going to get
back to the basics,
starting with lighting.
Hopefully I'll have something to share.

ps - I'm SO EXCITED that I'll be going to
my first ever World Series Game on Tuesday night!
No matter what kind of shots I get there
I'll be posting here so be watching.

Cat-nap

I am so not a cat person
but I couldn't resist taking this shot
of my sister's cat, Roosevelt,
who seemed a bit miffed that his
nap was disturbed by me hauling
stuff in for the shower.
Move over, Rosie.......
I could use a cat nap in the warm sunshine.

Grandpa's gift

And here is what GP Old Tim
presented to baby Grace.

Showered with love

Today was the baby shower
for our little
Grace Isabella.
GM Cindy went a bit
overboard, but GP Old Tim
tried his best to keep up with her
in the gift dept.
Lots of gifts
lots of pink
lots of folks
lots of LOVE.
Can't wait to meet you,
little baby Grace.

Saturday outing

Took my little buddies to the country on Saturday.
They didn't want to take any chances on getting the
best seats for the hayride,
so they decided to take
their picnic lunches and
eat them in the hay.
At least they got their fiber for the day!

Look who's SIX

Our sweet little Chloe turned six years old last week.
She was so happy that all of her "folks" came to celebrate
her special day with her.
Grandpa brought home this huge chocolate cake
and a cherry pie (her favorite) from the bakery.
Again, not your traditional bd cake,
but as you know by now
we make our own traditions.

Speaking of cake and tradition........
Lindsay came home from work the other
evening to find Jeff and Peyton sitting at the
kitchen table eating cake. They asked her if she
wanted some.
"Where did you get cake from?" she asked.
"It was in a box in the freezer," Jeff replied.
Once again, a new tradition was made.
Eating the TOP OF THE WEDDING CAKE
on your two week anniversary!
LOL!

and some more of the wedding....

When Lindsay was little
her favorite color was
"polka dots".
Looks like she got the
cake she dreamed of when
she was a little girl.
Peyton hopes it's chocolate.
That's his favorite.
Did I mention that Lindsay
was the "hairdresser" for
most of us on her wedding day.
What a control freak!
Wonder where that comes from?
And sweet Molly,
she has been there for Lindsay
since first grade.
She went above and beyond
her maid of honor duties.
Thanks, Molly!
Here's Jeff, giving a touching toast
to all the guests.
For someone who doesn't care much
for parties, he sure had a good time
at this one.

and one of my favorites

After doing an excellent job with his reading
Peyton slipped between the minister
and his mom & Jeff
to get a better look at what
was going on.

My new son

Our beautiful bride

Wedding bell blues

the wedding is over.........
it was b e a u t i f u l !!!!
I wish we could do it over again,
I would like to see it one more time.
Guess we'll just have to settle with
the 5oo plus shots taken.
Here are a few.

Flower girl to Bride

Let's hope,
on this day,
that the little flower girl
will pay more attention
as the bride.
Happy Wedding Day
Lindsay.

carefree

Summer is at an end
the days are getting shorter,
cooler.
Perfect time to be
barefoot
and
carefree.
Now, let me just find
some open space in
my calender.

Untraditional

My family throws tradition to the wind.
For instance, this is my youngest daughter's
engagement photo.
How many girls are lucky enough to have
TWO men in their engagement photo?
(even though one of them is just approaching
four feet tall).
I wonder if this one will make it in the society page
in the weekend paper?
Probably not,
but it will be framed and hanging
in a place of honor in my house.

Wedding party....part deux

Had a wonderful time at the reception.
Maybe too much fun........
must remember to use tripod after
consuming a few cocktails.
Oh, well, it was fun.
I hope Sarah and Danny weren't stranded
too long!

Wedding party

Another wedding this weekend.
This time for Steve & Emily.
Steve & my son have been best buddies since they were little guys.
As his mom said, if you need wallpaper removed, put Steve & Joe in
a crib and close the door.
Here they are, looking fine in their tuxedos.
Emily is a good balance for Steve.
They will make a good team.
more to come.......

All Grown Up

It seems like just three minutes ago
I was watching these kids play soccer in grade school.
Now I'm looking at them all grown up.
Lindsay's shower at the Little Hills Winery.
Mike and Becky's wedding
(showing off their cute little ring bearer)
Steve and Emily's engagement photo shoot.

I'm feeling old.
Happy, but old.

Best wishes to all you rugrats!
