The Festival

These kids love nothing more than going to a FESTIVAL. Today we packed up the wagon, blankets, and snacks and introduced our new little friend to the fine art of Festival Fun at the Irish Festival. After a long, HOT day pulling 90 pounds of kids around in a wagon herself is off to take some Motrin and a nap.

Weary Angel

Sometimes I wonder if my guardian angel ever gets tired of chasing me around. I think we both need to take a little rest.

Predictable

Does it never fail that whenever you are in a hurry all the LIGHTS ARE RED? This is one time when red in not my favorite color.

9/11

Four years later, this horrific day is still an emotional one for me and many others. Our small town has two separate memorials to this tragic event made with pieces of the Twin Tower structures that our former mayor shipped home from New York. The first one reminds me of a cross laying on it's side. The granite stone has a poem inscribed about our freedom. The second one has a placque with all the names of those who perished that fateful day. My thoughts and prayers go to all of those families today.

Labor Day Tribute

My hard-workin' man. Thanks G. for all the years you've worked to give this family the good life we've enjoyed.

Magic Mirrors

Family faces are magic mirrors. Looking at people who belong to us, we see the past, present, and future.

Happy Girl

The college boy was stuggling over the cost of a birthday gift for someone special to him.
When he thought about making her happy, he bit the bullet.
I think the smile on her face says it all. And wouldn't you know --- it just so happened to match the fashionable girl's jewels that day.

Prayers

Today I offer my prayers for all of the victims,
families, rescue workers, police, Red Cross volunteers,
and all others directly affected by the tragedy of
hurricane Katrina.
May you find strength, peace and hope, and may your lives
be restored quickly.
