Poor Mother Nature!

Look at what I found coming up in my backyard this afternoon.....the CROCUS! This is pretty early for them to be coming in, but our weather has been unseasonably warm lately. I can't believe the rabbits haven't gotten to these yet. Better get the protection ready for the daffodils.
Poor Mother Nature! I'll bet she is having a fit with the plants coming in before their time.

If only......

If only I had access to this every day maybe I wouldn't be forced to snack on chocolate!
My gal, Tinney, took this photo at the famous Farmer's Market in Seattle.

Work or Play?

One of my "assignments" this week consisted of these fun products from my pal, HKS. I'm sitting here thinking, "How can this be work when it feels like play?".

My tub overfloweth tonight!

I was busy working in my sb room today when Fed Ex came ringing the bell. Thinking it was more work for me to do I wasn't too excited until I saw this HUGE package! My oldest (translation: most long-standing, since we met in the 2nd grade) girlfriend sent this lovely birthday gift to me. It contained every bath product imagineable. Anyone ever soaked in "crystal caviar"? I can't wait......the tub is filling as I sit here typing. Oh, and did you notice that awesome RED leather box it came in?????? Thank you, N!

Snowball shield

Hallmark has the best ad in their stores now of two kids hiding behind a tree, using it as a shield from an onslaught of snowballs. It made me think of this photo I took of my four legged creature during the last round of snow we had. He wanted nothing to do with the snowball fight P & C were having, and was content to watch behind his shield, nice and warm.

Mmmmmm...is for (NOT m&m's)

It looks like the "water weight" is actually the holiday cookies that have caught up with me.
So, my favorite plate, which usually holds m&m's, will now be holding other things to snack on.

My nephew is on his way home from Iraq as I am sitting here. He should land on American soil by tomorrow evening. It's been a long year waiting for his return, and once again, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Godspeed, T.

Red Roses

Have you ever seen such beautiful RED ROSES in the middle of winter? These are from my best friend, who also happens to share my birthday on Monday, and what I really love is the RED VASE she so thoughtfully selected to go with my new RED furniture. Thanks, C., and a happy birthday to you too.

Officially over

The holiday season is officially over. That was my thought when we picked the kids up from the airport Monday night. As I was watching them walk ahead of me I thought that would have been a shot I'd like to have. I was happy to see that Nancy was thinking the same thing and took this one on the way.
Back to work, back to school, back to everyday routines. I miss the holiday season already.

Winter sport

photos by Nancy & Kent Hutsell

My son went on his very first ski trip to Seattle and Vancouver last week. After a couple of glides down the bunny slopes he went for a six mile run down with this group of savvy skiiers. I'll give him credit.........he's either got guts or the cold temporarily froze his brain cells.
